YX- Carrier + late aircraft 55%
- System / NAS 32%
- Weather + other 13%
Pick any two of 14 carriers and read them side by side - on-time arrival rate, the full distribution of arrival times, cancellations, and why each runs late. Both panels share one scale, so the bar heights are the comparison across the gutter. No pairwise winner is declared; instead each carrier is flagged on its own against the national average.
Every figure here is computed from the BTS record for June 2024 (one month). On-time and cancellation rates match the Most Punctual board; the arrival-vs-schedule distribution and delay-cause split are binned per carrier from each flight's arr_delay and the five BTS delay-cause fields, no longer a shifted national shape. System-wide per carrier; a route-level pairing is the next step.
Panel A
A disciplined legacy operation; reliability is the brand.
Big global hubs mean big exposure to weather and flow.
West-Coast-focused network, steady and unflashy.
Leisure routes flown a few times a week, not daily.
Point-to-point at scale, fast turns, thin slack.
Ultra-low-cost: tight schedules, few spare aircraft.
Northeast-heavy, in the most congested airspace in the country.
The largest network, sitting right on the national line.
Ultra-low-cost: a lean fleet leaves no room to recover.
Panel B
